SADHNA
Sadhna the income generation unit of Seva Mandir was started in 1988, with the aim of being able to provide the women in the rural, tribal and urban slum belts of Udaipur with an alternative method of income generation. As these groups were not largely agriculture based and depended mainly on other sources of income, handicraft was chosen to be introduced to them. The skills taught to these women consisted of Appliqué and Tanka embroidery. After 17 years of being part of Seva Mandir, Sadhna was registered as a Mutual Benefit Trust on 10.12.2004. This step was taken, keeping in mind the steady expansion of Sadhna into a self- sufficient, small- scale unit for production of handcrafted products.
