Mining in Cameroon present’s challenges that include few places where rare earths are in high enough concentration to merit extraction and a more than 20 year gap in knowledge outside of China in how to find, extract and refine the elements. (REIDC) Uranium, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, CAM-Energy Uranium Corporation, has a 92% interest in (REIDC) Uranium Cameroon plc, which holds three properties in Cameroon - Kitongo, Lolodorf and Teubang. Exploration at all three properties is ongoing.‘Rare Earth Industrial Development Corporation’ (REIDC) currently holds 1,500 km2 of land for the exploration of uranium and other rare earth metals within Cameroon. These include the Bantadje licence in the north of the country, the Essong licence in southern Cameroon, the Mbanga licence in central west Cameroon and the Ekomedion licence in the south west.
